HB 1205 - Public Library Book Ban

House Bill 1205 was a book ban bill aiming to override local control and currently existing processes to remove “explicit sexual material” from children’s collections of public libraries.

While this new law does not include a criminal penalty, it is poorly written, redundant legislation that puts Government in the way of local public library control and processes.

  • ND United OPPOSED this bill.

  • HB 1205 PASSED the Legislature.
